HURTIGRUTEN - den unike ReiseGlede!
------------------
www.janpetrus.no - One of my best travel experience, I got through NRK-2, a few intense days in June 2011, when Coastal was floating in the slow pace of the TV screen day and night, morning and evening, day after day. A fantastic program and a great idea from The Norwegian Broadcasting: The movement, slowness, pictures and silence, which surrounds the “Hurtigruten”. First:
THE MOVEMENT - I have sailed with Norwegian Coastal Express from Bodø to Svalbard, and from Tromsø to Bodø and T / R Harstad Tromsø many times. The television program was therefore a return to the coast and the fairway that caught me hour after hour in the screens flickered past. It was like being on board. For the mystery of the Coastal Express is just the time. The incredible experience to sit on the veranda deck and filled with wawes timeless message of silence in motion. Learning and discovering that the movement meets my restless needs, while
SLOWNESS fills the soul with a deep and sincere peace. Only the gentle coastal residents with waving flags interfere slowness. - I think. People we can see them everywhere. Coast's unique natural treasures will be long until we see again. - In the imagination where anything is possible is the thoughts and images and feelings back to the couch on the top deck, where the ships engine monotonous vibrations fill the body, while the hoarse cry of gulls brand-trick from the propellers. I love to stand completely still and just look ahead, let your eyes follow the head to the next island, the lighthouse in the distance and the mountains that almost floats on the sea. Everything has been so from time immemorial. There is mile after mile without humans and human structures. Here everything is as it always has been. The soul is filled with calmness and slowness. The ship's movements give me the change I need. Chimney surround leads thought and feelings, memories and sensations inward and into the life's great treasure. I remember my first trip north, with camera and notepad and curiosity and adventurousness with freelance contracts for Aftenposten and the Illustrated Family Sheet. - Hitra, Åsvær and other famous sites like it were articles about the “Hurtigruten” has long since passed. The next stop will be in Lofoten and Svolvær. I can hardly wait. But the slow race is the trademark of the Coastal Express. Without it everything would just be like on other cruise ships, even if:
PICTURES from the stretch from Bodø to Lofoten, Svolvær with and Stokmarknes, and then through Ramsund to Evenes and Harstad, is the inner fillet of “Hurtigruten” 's long journey north. The images and impressions are in line, once landfall is in sight after crossing from Bodø. It's almost just surrender. Let the camera zoom in beauty or in post below, and then rest in the chair before the next game. For now the sun shines night and day, and the light is as bright at night as during the day. The body is jet-lagged and sleep just a hefty guest when the hours are too long. All this belongs to life on board. The entrance to Svolvær with its dryfisch-churches, jagged rock formations and rich culture stick firmly to the retina and creates images that are never erased. Maybe there is light. Maybe it's nature. Maybe it's the magic? I do not know, but recognizes the camera lens insatiable hunt for the best motives. Yet there are:
THE SILENCE sets that Coastal provides its travelers who gives everyone the opportunity to travel into itself. The boat moves, routines slowness and the pictures are stories more than anything else surrounded by the wordless in the vast landscape and the powerful nature. - Something happens to us when we have hours and hours follow “Hurtigruten” journey among islands and reefs. I grab me to think that it goes too fast. In a few days it's all over, the journey ended and every day again like other days. The journey north is the journey towards the light. The northern lights that flicker across the advent sky a December night, or summer light that drill themselves under the skin and put soul tracks in the bright summer nights. I have lived about 8 years in northern Norway, from Ramsund to Svalbard with stopover in Tromso on the road south. The images are almost stronger now than when I saw them the first time. “Hurtigruten” has opened the archives and given me new sensations in the silence break. I feel a priority to experience this, and let silence speak for me. For deep inside of me is a voice that whispers. Life is your gift. Grab it while you live. For in silence on board is just you and there you are! - With best regards / jph
