Except for the spectacular nature and the midnight sun Bodø is not much to see. However the midnight sun, the nature and the fact that you have to cross the arctic circle to get there, makes Bodø worth a visit. For a while ago I wrote about the train journey from Trondheim to Bodø, and of course, when you find yourself in Bodø you need a Place to stay.

Most of the hotels in Bodø seems old and worn down, but there are two very good alternatives. Radisson BLU and Thon Hotel Nordlys (northern light). On my latest visit to Bodø I spent a Night at Thon Hotel.

The hotel is modern and has a very good location, only 50 meters from the pier -the main attraction in Bodø city center - and with a good view over the small boat harbor, the rooms – at least those on the seaside- has large windows and offers a great place to admire the nature, the sea and of course the midnight sun.
