This sunny Saturday morning, I took my 2 year old daughter in my car and drove down to the Oslo Central Station and parked there. We jumped on the bus that took us down to "Aker Brygge", the harbour in Oslo. We walked the streets, looked at boats, had a nice icecream and enjoyed sitting there watching people and the ocean on this beautiful day. After about 2 minutes that gets boring of course, at least for a 2 year old, so we went on the ferry that took us over to Nesoddtangen. Even though it's called a ferry, you can't bring your car on it. After about a 600 meter walk on narrow streets among amazing gardens and summerhouses, we found a small beach were we had a barbeque. My daughter even took a bath in the freezing water (late Sept). We saw the ferry from Denmark close up, as it passed us by, and the seaguls were definately intrested in tasting our food. After a few hours there we took the ferry back and took a ride on the subway and the bus, and drove home. Who says the city isn't for kids, my daughter will speak of it for weeks to come.
nice, warm story....its possible to find positive moments in the short one-day trips...
