One day i was talking to my mum and she started calling me a chicken. She said so becasue i always say "i want to go bungee jumping and i want to go jump of a plane with a parachute" but i had not done anything except talking about it. So she challenged me to Bungee jump At Rjukan in Telemark(Norway). She invited two of here friends that also wanted to jump and i invited a friend of mine. My mum hereself was not going to jump but she came along to take pictures and to se the spectacular leaps in to the air. The bungee jump resort is only open on sertain days and at special hours so we ended up going on a thursday afternoon. Me and my friend had never done anything like this before, but my mums friends had both been bungee jumping in other countries. To get to Rjukan you can take the buss or you can drive a car and its not so hard to find if you have GPS or a good map you can follow. The weather was not so good, but we were told that no matter what kind of weather they had we would still be able to jump. We got there a little early so we got to walk on the bridge and see where we were supose to jump from. The bridge is about 84 meters above the ground, and when you look down you see some rocks, a little water and some bushes. At about 5'o clock the Crew came and we made a line out side the cabin where you sign up to jump. We were there so early that i was nr 4 in line to jump. In the cabin you had to read a sheet of paper and sign another sheet of paper saying that you understood the rules and the consequenses of jumping. There was a max weight at 120 kg and the price was 590 Norwegian Kr. You could actualy pay with a card if you did not have cash on you. At this point i was starting to get a little nervous and i could feel a little tingle inside. I was really excited but at the same time i was a little scared. We walked up on the bridge and started to talk about the jumping proces. We watched the first two guys jump and they came up to the platform with huge smile's on their face's and you could se they really enjoyed it! My mums friend was in front of me in line so she was the first person in our group that they called over to gett dressed. She is now 62 Years old and she has jumped 2 times before. So this was here 3rd time going. This is a proff that age does not matter if you want to bungee jump! so i was thinking in my head if a 62 year old can do this then it should be no problem at all. There were 3 crew members on the bridge, one was putting on the aquipment and the other two were helping with the positioning and the jumping. The guy on the bridge then called my name and i walked over and he started to put on the aquipment. They atached a thing around my feet seperatly, and then another thing around my stomach and my thies. It was pretty thingt and i did feel pretty safe. While i was getting ready my mums friend was about readdy to jump and before i knew it she had jumped! Not long after she came back up with a huge smile on here face!! She had told us before that the other times she was so nervous about jumping that she forgot to enjoy it, but this time she was not going to be nervous but just jump and enjoy the feeling! Now it was my turn, they told me to climb over the fence and walk over to the platform. He attached the bungee rope and told me to walk up the later to the platform. When i got to the top they liftet my leg up and made sure the rope was between my feet on the platform. This was all going so fast i had no time to think or to be nervous becasue they were talking to me the whole time. He told me to move my feet a little closer to the tip, and then he said put your hands behind your head and lift your chin up. While i was doing this i did not have much time to look down or get nervous, becasue when i lifted my head up they started counting! 3,2,1, and before i knew it i leaned forward and left the platform! The first second leaving the platform was amazing! The rush running through your body was so special its hard to describe! It was like a huge kick of excitment and for a second you are just flaying! Then suddenly i could feel the rope slowly thightening but it was not harsh at all, it was smooth and soft and it pulled you up a few meters before it ligthly lett you go again. At this time your feeligns are just running around crazy and you are trying to think about what you have just done but all you can do is smile and enjoy that special feeling and reliff. When the rope calms down they send down a wire that you hoock on to your belt and a machine puls you up to the bridge in no time. When you get to the top you are all hicked up and you feel 110%. I was smiling so much it must have looked like it was painted on. I told my friend it was amazing and that she would love it, and before i knew it she was ready to jump. She also came back up with a huge smile on here face and you could deff tell that she enjoyed it!!! While we ere getting undressed, the last person in our group jumped. When she came up,she had a huge smile on here face and a energy of 110%. While standing there after the jump, my body feelt really funny! It was like i did not know what to do! At some parts it could feel like you were shaking but at the same time it was just joy! We then packed our stuff and walked down to my mum to look at the photos she had taken. At this time there were about 50 people standing in line waiting to jump!

That's great! I didn't know one could bungee jump in Telemark, I'll make a note of that :-) I did the Nevis in New Zealand (a 134m plunge from a gondola suspended above a rocky canyon just outside Queenstown), it was awesome!!! To me this was more scary than sky diving, strangely enough... But what an adrenaline rush!!! It lasted for about 3 days!!
