My first visit to Ukraine was back in 2006, when my husband and I spent a autumn weekend in Hotel Londonskaya in Odessa. We had a great time in this sofisticated Black Sea holiday town, but two days were absolutely not enough.
This time, when visiting Jalta on Crimea, we decides to stay for one week. The actual reason for visiting this laidback holdiday town on Southern Crimea was the European championships in Swimming for masters, for which the Ukraines were hosts.
We stayed in Massandra hotel, just 400 m from the big Yalta Intourist hotel, where the competitions were held.

Kontrastene enorme og opplevelsene unike om en stopper for å oppdage det store i det lille, og det lille i det tidløse. Her gjelder det å kjøre langsomt oppover til ca. 1450 meter over havet, for å la Jotunheimen i all sin “tøffhet” liste seg under huden og sanses bit for bit. Ikke minst gjelder det å finne sin egen rytme, selv om hoteller og fjellstuer underveis gir rikelige tilbud om hjelp og veiledning, turer og oppleveleser om en stopper ett døgn eller to.

Yesterday, after a short trip out we took an early evening. A long day of traveling made us too tired to enjoy the best of Bergen's nightlife, instead we woke up early today and spent the morning in bed, looked out of the windows of our hotel room overlooking Bryggen.

I am totally speechless over how great our hotel room is. A small attic room with 5 small windows. I have opened a window to let in some of the noise from the city, I hear the fishermen at the fish market sell fish to tourists and I hear the light breeze.

We booked this hotel because it was located close to the Dnipro River which flows through Kiev, When we got there it turned out that it was not near the Dnipro, it is located on the Dnipro.

The hotel are built on a barge floating on the River. Inside there is not much that resembles a boat, but when we open the door and go out on the patio or deck or whatever it is called, then we are truly maritime.

The rooms are big, nice and modern with stylish interior and large beds.

Yellow, black and White. The huge bed is looking right at me when i enter the room! We have just arrived at Andel's Hotel In Berlin. This is a 4 star specially designed hotel!

The rooms are designed with 3 different colours and it has a designed chair in the corner. On the wall there is a flat screen tv, that is synchronized with the speakers in the bathroom. The bed is not a regular size, it must be a king size pluss some more! It was like a dream to sleep in it.

Det hender man reiser til Stockholm. Frem og tilbake mellom Gardermoen og Arlanda. En dyr taxi til et hotell eller møtested, og så retur med ettermiddagsflyet. Det er jo ikke lange avstanden. Kjapt, effektivt og utrolig kjedelig. Min anbefaling er derfor. Ta bilen, kjør langsomt og opplev noe spesielt.

Except for the spectacular nature and the midnight sun Bodø is not much to see. However the midnight sun, the nature and the fact that you have to cross the arctic circle to get there, makes Bodø worth a visit. For a while ago I wrote about the train journey from Trondheim to Bodø, and of course, when you find yourself in Bodø you need a Place to stay.

Most of the hotels in Bodø seems old and worn down, but there are two very good alternatives. Radisson BLU and Thon Hotel Nordlys (northern light). On my latest visit to Bodø I spent a Night at Thon Hotel.

The hotel is located right in city center, just a few minutes from the cathedral and town square. The hotel is modern, minimalist, and affordable. A nice option to explore Trondheim
The hotel has a nice Cafe and restaurant where you can relax with something good in the evening and eat breakfast in the morning.

The hotel - just like our experience of Trondheim in general, are characterized by very good and attentive service. Comfort Trondheim helped to make our stay in Trondheim even better.

For 22 år siden besøkte jeg Selbu Gjestegård ved Selbusjøen i Trønderlag. Gamlehjemmet var nettopp flyttet ut og hotelgjestene inn. Jeg husker en lang gang med små hvite rom og grønne vinduskarmer. Det var der det hele begynte. - I dag har det gamle gjestehuset blitt omkranset av nye bygninger i bygdefunkisstil som arkitektonisk er en eneste kollisjon av ulike behov og hensyn.
Det gjør likevel ingenting, for innendørs smelter det meste sammen til et utrolig hyggelig sted.

Only 5 minutes on the red Metro line from Milan Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele you find the metro station Turro and Hotel Concorde.
The Hotel has modern and bright rooms and the reception are nice, the hotels own restaurant is not the best, but there are several good restaurants in the close surroundings.
From the Hotel it is's about 50 meters to the metro station Turro. If you don’t mind using the metro and would like a cheap and nice hotel, this is a good choice.
